I was raised in Northern New York and graduated from Brushton-Moira Central School with a NYS Regents Diploma in 1981. I received my BA in Theatre from SUNY Potsdam in 1985 and a Masters Degree in Library Science from Syracuse University in 2000. I was employed by Syracuse Scenery & Stage Lighting Co., Inc. from 1985 to 2001 when I left to pursue a career as a Librarian. I am currently employed by the Syracuse Law Firm of Scolaro Shulman Cohen Fetter & Burstein, P.C..

I was Raised in Morning Star Lodge No. 524 on December 18^th, 1995 and served as Master in 2000-2001. I served as the Second Onondaga District Umbrella Chairman for Membership Development from 1998-2000 under R. W. Lee Edwards and Brotherhood Education from 2002-2004 under R. W. Richard Gilbert. I am a member of Central City Council No. 13, Cryptic Masons; Central City Commandery No. 25, Knights Templar; Tigris Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., Glencairn Council No. 13, Knight Masons, the Masonic Society and the New York College, Masonic Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatis. I have served as or am currently an officer for Morning Star Chapter No. 289, Order of the Eastern Star; Masters, Wardens & Deacons Association; Past Masters Association; Charles H. Platt Chapter No. 247, Royal Arch Masons; and the Valley of Syracuse, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. I served as the Assistant Grand Lecturer of the Onondaga District from 2004-2006 and as their District Deputy Grand Master from 2006-2008. I was the founding Venerable Master of the Syracuse Chapter of the Knights of St. Andrew and I am currently a Trustee of the Chancellor Robert R. Livingston Masonic Library.

I reside on Onondaga Hill, Syracuse, NY with my wife, Marian, a Finance Manager for Syracuse Scenery and Past Matron of Morning Star Chapter No. 289, Order of the Eastern Star, and our son, Conor, our resident soccer superstar and member of DeMolay. I also have 2 step-sons: Bernard Duffy, a small press publisher & computer game designer, and Steven Duffy, a new Medical Doctor, his wife Michelle, a PhD student at Syracuse University. and their son Ian, age 1. I have been active as a Cub Scout Den Leader and Youth Soccer Coach and currently serve as the Chairman of the Advisory Council for Trinity Chapter. Order of DeMolay.

My interests include Kabbalah, Tai Chi, Freemasonry and soccer. I am a fan of the NY Jets, Celtic FC, the new Battlestar Galactica series as well as the Highlander movies & TV series.
